Polyurethane Foam is an excellent insulator and has been applied to pipe used in the oil and gas industry for more than 10 years . Polyurethane Foam has been used extensively in deepwater applications in conjunction with Bayou’s Pipe-in-Pipe system.

The Bayou Companies, through it’s subsidiary Bayou Flow Technologies, offers low density and mid density polyurethane foam at the Port of Iberia. The plant employs a computer controlled system to spray apply the 3# to 6# density PUF insulation to a very close thickness range. The PUF applied for pipe-in-pipe is jacketed with a high-density urethane polymer to provide abrasive and moisture resistance.
